Without a doubt, my newest obsession. The feeling after completing a hot yoga class is like no other. You feel accomplished and ready to go. You feel so good. It’s my favorite part of my day — whether at 6am or 6pm. 

Sweat out your stress. Sweat out your anger. Sweat out what is on your mind. I do not necessarily like sweating, but I have to admit, the type of sweat during a hot yoga class really hits different. You can even just sit on your mat in child’s pose and still sweat like crazy if you want. 

Why do I feel so good after hot yoga?

Once, my favorite instructor at my yoga studio set her intention based on the “hot yoga high.” Hot yoga releases endorphins, which makes you feel good mentally and boosts your mood. Endorphins are a type of hormone, that when released, benefit your wellbeing. 

Benefits of Hot Yoga:

  • Increases flexibility 
  • Strengthens muscles 
  • Controls stress and depression 
  • Burns calories 

Hot Yoga Tips:

  • Drink water! Before and after class. 
  • Know your limits. Take a step out of the room if you need to.
  • Listen to your body. This is how you stay safe and strong.

I’ve been doing hot yoga with my mom recently. And every class we have a little mother-daughter moment. A moment of gratitude and love for where we are and who we are. A little wink right after shavasana says it all.
