Matcha Green Tea Pound Cake

With a subtle green tea flavor and a hint of sweetness, this pound cake is light, moist, and will definitely have you coming back for seconds.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon matcha green tea powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 340°F
  2. Cream butter in a bowl
  3. Add sugar in the butter and mix well. Slowly start to add beaten eggs and continue to stir well.
  4. Sift the flour, baking powder, and green tea powder together. (This ensures that these ingredients are smooth and breaks up any lumps in the mixture). Add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture. Mix until smooth and fully combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan. Bake in preheated 340°F oven for about 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Enjoy fresh out of the oven and/or save for later!
